THE EASY WAY TO FEEL BETTER

You may be given a cactus, but you don’t have to sit on it. 

 

American author Joyce Meyer uses this cactus metaphor when reminding us that being negative during challenging times makes the challenging times more negative. 

 

This should be logical, but as humans, we do this with other areas of life too. Totally unaware! We make life harder, frustrating & more overwhelming than it has to be. Let's be clear: life is GOING to give you a run for your money. There'll be times it's going to make you think you've had enough, you've got nothing left in you, and that staying under the covers is the only appealing option for the day. But that's not EVERY day.

 

There are good days too.

And average days.

And wonderful days.

Life offers us a mix bag of experiences. Phew!

 

It's not our fault (wink wink) that we make life harder than is has to be. Things have just gotten too busy, there's juggling of children, work and responsibilities and feeling that there's no time left for you.

 

Hmmm... that's not a very proactive approach though. And you reading this tells me you're not prepared to 'sit on the cactus' and wallow in your misery, so let's try some simple steps to decrease your cortisol and increase your HAPPY CHEMICALS! Dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin here we come šŸ„°

 

The ease of this might seem ludicrous to you, but trust me, the easier the better. Ease & joy are my life motto, and they're especially good for mums, am I right?!

 

The best way to FEEL better is to do more of what makes you feel good. Mic drop.

 

But, because we're looking for quick and easy ways, we're taking your desired trip to Italy and all expenses paid spa day or new Audi off the table for now. They can stay in your long-term plan. We want something you can do TODAY.

 

Drum Roll ......

Decide what you like .... AND DO IT!

 

- Love reading? Commit to 5 pages before bed, on waking or during your lunch break

- Get inspired by being inspired? Plug in a podcast and get listening to a little motivation

- Want to move your body? Do 10 star jumps, run up and down the stairs, stretch your beautiful limbs or dance like nobody's watching. See? Easy!

 

Remember, you get to CHOOSE. You're an adult - you get to ADULT!

 

Design your days to be ones you look forward to, that have you waking up grateful, going to sleep content, and feeling the good-feels during the day. Just like learning to ride a bike, this gets easier with practice until one day, you forget you used to feel a lot less happy in your days. Woo hoo - cheers to that šŸŽ‰
