LET'S FEEL GOOD!

You want to feel good, right?

And you want the people in your life to feel good too. One, it's a nice thing and two, people are friendlier when they're feeling good, so it's a win:win!

As my colleague and I were knee deep in piles of children's books this week - sorting, clearing, re-organising - the topic of personalities came up. You know, like how some people don't notice aesthetics but for another, the environment can make or break their mood. After colour-coding the spines of our preschools children's book display, some staff immediately felt calmer, clearer and more inspired. And what about music, company or checking off a to-do list? There are lots of different things that help you feel better ... and help you feel worse.

You want to know what these are for yourself AND your loved ones or colleagues.

This falls into the second step of my signature coaching framework EMPOWERED. This step is called Own It and helps you get clear on who you are, what your reality is and what impacts you. My observations of people (and ummm, myself) is we take inspired action ... but it's often inspired by someone else! Think social media, family or friends. But you're not them, you're you and those things mightn't rock your world or feel aligned for you, so you're left feeling unsuccessful, unproductive, frustrated or bitter and don't know why šŸ˜© Dang.

Here's a few go-to's I like to use in my own life, with my team and with my clients when trying to conjur genuine Feel Good feels. Try them and see what you discover:

  • The 5 Love Languages
  • The 6 Human Needs
  • Human Design
  • Introvert or Extrovert
  • Morning or Night
  • Routined or Spontaneous

Now, once you've played around with observing yourself over the coming days (like your moods, what happened prior, where you were, who you were with, what was expected of you etc) jot down a summary, like a little You Profile šŸ„°

Next, you move into the third step of the EMPOWERED framework which is called Live It. This is where you design your days to set you up to FEEL GOOD!!! Or at the very least, to be more supported than less supported!

For example, say you've recognised you're an introvert who likes routine, structure and late nights. You design your day in response to this by carving time out for you. This might mean you pack the kiddies up and head to a quiet lake, fenced playground, cafe or bushwalk so they can be loud and energetic, while not needing your brain power. This downtime can help to reset your energy. Sitting in the backyard or lying on the couch might be enough. Or perhaps the still of the evenings, when everyone's sleeping soundly, is your time. You can light a candle, either savour silence or have peaceful music playing as you relax or prep for the next day.

Think how different a designed day would be for an extrovert who loves mornings and feels boxed in by routine. Very contrasted! So beautiful person, get discovering your you-ness and design your life on purpose. Design it to be EMPOWERED.

Until next time, stay wonderful and enjoy,
